Abby Hookey BSc(hons) PGDip MSc RD

Abby has completed an undergraduate degree in human nutrition and following a year working in a hospital completed a postgraduate diploma to qualify as a dietitian. Abby has also completed a masters degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics. She has 5 years NHS experience and has worked in a variety of clinical areas now specialising in weight management and diabetes.

Abby has combined her passion for horses and nutrition and currently continues to work as a diabetes research dietitian in Bristol alongside completing a masters by research at the Royal Agricultural University. Her research is investigating the most effective method of reducing water soluble carbohydrates in hay. Therefore, providing suitable fodder for horses with laminitis, obesity and insulin resistance.
